@nvrrmbr Yeah. Actually, today is the 1 year anniversary of my being on the site. I really couldn't compare that era of RDN with the current one. They're so different it's unfair.

@alargesmallhorse Different in a good way? No. This is a change I haven't been happy about, let me tell you that. Remember when RDN was built around friendship and not clopping? Remember when the popular notice bar had notices from Delc that actually meant something and not two notices of people begging for favorites? I miss those days, back when there was meaning to people's dashes.

@pony it was ALOT more random and the timeline was a constant riot. The people were more of a group of friends as opposed to more of a "family" as i see it nowadays. Everyone had their own thing they contributed and were known for and now everyone just runs together. The people nowadays are still good people for the most part, but they're much too silent asitwere.

@pony There is no family-ish feel here. For instance, I have no idea who you are, and you have no idea who I am. I used to be famous on RDN, believe it or not. But now... Oh now, nothing.

@pony People were [i]alot[/i] more lenient back then, too. I honestly am not sure which one I prefer because site evolution has changed it and it will continue to change. Dwelling on the old days of here just feels stupid, but it's history I suppose.

@hoit21 There was a time, long long long long long ago, where adding one of my dashes to your favorites was an initiation. Two months I had that dash on the first spot on the popular notices board. But look at what the board is now. A bunch of rubbish.

@nvrrmbr You just gave me a Rarity flashback. I think it feels like a family is that everypony can just be themselves here. Even when we get on each other's nerves it seems like most forgive easily. I do feel closer to the more active core of RDN's users though. Anyway it's true we may not know each other but the fact tha we all share an interest in something so outside of the norms of our society kind of makes things feel more intimate.

@nvrrmbr Well even then there were calls for attention, but nowadays... WHOO! Man, pretty much every notice is a call for attention from some of the people. Wish we could go back to the days before this became "lol, sexual innuendo is so funneh" Network most of all. Some of the people nowadays on here are just godawful, but there are still people I enjoy talking to. It's about limiting yourself and exposure to the masses, much like what the fandom itself was initially.

@pony I will admit that RDN is a tightly knit society, but it's lost it's true intentions. This site was built around friendship, hell, it's even "brought to you by the power of friendship". I feel distant to them frankly because I don't like them. Simple as that. I just don't like the new RDN. Call me an old fuddy-duddy, but it's true. I'm a cranky old man and I want things to be how they used to be. But most of all, I miss the old users. The ones who left. @starshine particularly. I miss him. Once he left, RDN just started to... Seem less interesting for me. Then someone very close to me, @ponyveteran left, and that was simply too much. I lost it, I stopped liking this place and the people. Maybe I'm the lost one. Well now I'm ranting, aren't I?

@alargesmallhorse I honestly don't see all the sexual innuendo all the oldbies keep complaining about. I mean, yeah, it happens, but it happens as much as any other conversation about videogames, weapons, or drugs does.

@pony I don't see why if it doesn't make a difference to the now. People change, places change, and we gotta get used to it. It'd be better to know about the past RDN if it made [i]any[/i] difference, but alas.

@alargesmallhorse Unfortunately, the "big man" of RDN, Ceruleanspark, just encourages the damn sexual innuendo. Most of RDN's user base is young, pubescent guys, who find the stuff funny, so he's just pandering to the audience.

@nvrrmbr No I think I get it. Missing old friends can be rough. That's the hard part about most any online community I think.. We come and go. Even in communities where I've felt extremely attached, I've ultimately left them.. Something feels different about this fandom though. I hope that difference turns out to be a good thing

@nvrrmbr Gherkin used to be really cool and funny and stuff, but lately he's just been crying out for attention. I think he caught it from those two as he is and was associated with that group. If you talk to him privately, he's still pretty cool. Same with Colfax.

@nvrrmbr I have a few extra minutes.. I've enjoyed the show since I was little in the 80s as well. I'm thinking about PPG specifically. They were great for about 4 seasons give or take then meh.. Anyway, I'll be very interested to see how this particular fandom takes the and of the show (or at least the end of good episodes)

@nvrrmbr They're already making episodes is the interesting thing. I've never seen that in a fan community before.. Granted it's not like I've devoted myself to many a fandom in the past. I think fim-fiction and art might perpetuate the feeling of these good old days in the future, but you never can be sure.

@ceruleanspark This ain't me as far as I've seen. I realize I grapes alot and in all honestly, it may or not be warranted. You just try to pin my hatred for you two by making me look as bad as you can every time it comes up and I'm not much a fan of it. I don't necessarily look to be "e-famous" as you say, but I'd like to be seen as a valid person as opposed to this d*ck who has invalid negative opinions about everything. Please chill the papayas out.

@ceruleanspark As far as I've seen, no timezone seems to be "generally Cerulean-free." Upon taking this last week off to gather myself, I really don't want to fight with you, man. You're right that I probably shouldn't be the one to complain about you to any extent no matter if you've done things that I don't agree with at all but generally, I don't want our rivalry to carry on like such and I am sorry for constantly speaking out against you all as I have. Though I apologize now, remember that you were the one who approached me about this one.
