@starshine Well, I'm only 16 (17 later this month) but I grew up on the original NES thanks to my babysitter. But I really started playing old games once I found emulation. Then I found StarTropics and Little Nemo and then I discovered the internet. Now I really don't use emulation and I've got quite a few NES, SNES, and Genesis.

@rainclop StarTropics was awesome too. Last level was annoyingly hard. The second game was disappointing.

@zarkanorf I learned about video games from SMB, Contra, and Mega Man. Nintendo Hard is the correct difficulty for a game.

@starshine My step-brother got stuck on a Ninja Gaiden for the X-Box; I promptly bonked him, turned the difficulty up, and beat the game in one sitting.

@delc17 As much as I hate to admit it, you can seriously just button mash the first two levels and be joe-cool (or maybe I just button-mash differently). After that, and when you find an exploit of soul farming in that one cavern level, everything just... UGH

@rainclop I almost got jumped because I punched a kid who believed that Call of Duty was the best game ever. He left with a bloody nose, and I left with my tail between my legs.

@zarkanorf I once came really close to beating up a kid that said Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was a rip-off of Mortal Kombat. Then I explained to him that was like saying that Sonic was a rip-off of Mario and he said "I don't know. Which came first?" He then said Sonic was a rip off of Mario.

@delc17 He's birthday is this week and he's getting a 3DS (no complaints I'm getting on for my birthday later this month) but he's getting Madden for it. I tried to explain to him this was a stupid idea because the game sucks and it has absolutely no multiplayer but he wouldn't listen to me. Well at least I'll have fun playing SSF4!

@rainclop ok that's good. as long as he's older than 10. before that, kids eyes are still adjusting and the 3ds can permanently screw with their eyes. there was a warning at last e3 about that
