@pony Because the name Derpy was coined on 4chan a few months before her official name was revealed as Ditzy. Lauren indicated that she "didn't want to take away the fans' Derpy" and eventually it superseded her original name, which ultimately led to what happened with The Last Roundup.

@toksyuryel What's Miss Faust like in person?
Monday, 16-Apr-12 17:48:23 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark Never met her. She posted that on her DA.

@toksyuryel I always thought it was weird to refer to someone by their first name if you don't know them. Maybe it's just me? Or has she said she likes being called Lauren somewhere?

@ceruleanspark Maybe it's a local thing; around here it's weird to call someone by their last name outside of formal and educational contexts.

@toksyuryel Where 'here'=='seattle'?
Monday, 16-Apr-12 17:53:56 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark Yeah. The major exception to that would be when referring to people in high political positions, though depending on context you might still use their first names.

@toksyuryel Interesting. In england it's not uncommon to continue to call someone Mr or Mrs even after you've gotten to know them, as a term of respect. My friends mother is still Mrs Smith, even though I'm best friends with her son.

@ceruleanspark Culture is fun like that, isn't it? ☺

@toksyuryel I find this sort of thing very interesting.

@ceruleanspark That's ok, I refer to her as Ms. Faust, just doesn't seem right calling her by her first name.
