I'm a bit sad because my DnD group is starting a new campaign. So I have to make a new character and abandon my current. We will start the campaign in the Eberron setting instead of the generic one we're using now. I can't decide which class I want to play. Either a changeling illusionist wizard or an Eladrin Swordmage or something completely different. Argh.

@broniebrown Illusions are soething you can do many funny things with.

@hakupony That's so intriguing to play this race and class combination. You can remember the face of a person and change magically the complete my character's look into this person. I could sneak in everywhere. Such a combination would be very weak in combat situations. Also there is a spell you can make once a day that a creature forgets for one minute what has happened the last 10 minutes.

@broniebrown #latereply I didn't play DnD for long, I' more a DSA person but this intrigues me to play DnD again.

@hakupony I have a lot of friends that play DSA (Das schwarze Auge) too. But I don't like the overly complex system.

@broniebrown I grew up with it so it doesn't bother me. I just like the setting, especially the less populated areas since you can be so delightfully arrogant if you come from the Horas realm and are there :)

@broniebrown #Latereply Oh, the basic D&D and it's "new campaign" issues. What's the point of legendary levels if every DM starts new campaigns when the party is level 13. They'll never know the gratification of a level 40 character.

@nerthos What a coincidence. My party is right now at level 13. But we'll start our campaign at level 5.

@broniebrown The game starts being fun at level ~12 and becomes REALLY fun after 20. DMs drop campaigns at level 13, because at that point is where the characters start developing some power, and they have to actually THINK to troll the party.

@nerthos The hardest thing is trolling lvl.1 mages. They just die like flies if you throw anything at them.

@hakupony Heh. That's because they don't know how to play. Colour spray, magic missile. You have the game done with that.

@nerthos Ambush --> throw stones at them --> they bleed to death. However, my favorite lvl.1 spell is sleep. Group control 4tw

@hakupony Yeah, ambushes work, but if you're versed enough in the RPG arts, you don't get ambushed.

@nerthos Actually our DM is pretty competent but he has a lot of problems creating a good setting out of nothing. That's why he prefers Eberron because there is so much content that he can borrow from.

@broniebrown It makes sense, though I would fight until the end to keep at least the level of the characters. I get really fond of my characters, and usually play them years. One day, you'll reach level 40 and you'll never want to play anything lower than 20 again.
