              @minti Reach was in the works before halo 3 came out. ODST was pretty much entirely unnecessary, though. halo 4 is pretty much made by a separate, almost-entirely-fan-based developer. Bungie just wanted to make the trilogy, a proper ending, then dump the series. It might as well have ended at 3, but it's one of those series where the lore is outside the game.
