  1. Still in the pub at the wake, and a baby is crying endlessly at the moment. I don't know if it's the drink or. What's happened today, but rather than getting irritated by it it's actually making me feel sad, and I don't even really. KNOW. This baby or its parents as they're aquainted with my dad's side.

    1. @leonkfox Give the baby some beer. That'll cheer him up.

      1. @ceruleanspark It's strange that with a smiling avatar, you come across as a much more happy person than when you've got a frowning guy holding weaponry.... Just saying

        1. @purplephish20 Here's a somewhat relevant quote "We have a feeling that it must be ‘honest’ work, because it is hard and disagreeable, and we have made a sort of fetish of manual work. We see a man cutting down a tree, and we make sure that he is filling a social need, just because he uses his muscles; it does not occur to us that he may only be cutting down a beautiful tree to make room for a hideous statue. "

          1. @ceruleanspark Oh I see.... So someone needs to be grunting and grinding away at a physical task for it to be considered "work"?

            1. @purplephish20 It's from George Orwell. He's discussing the idea that just because work is "hard" society has deemed it "Good", in comparison to non-manual work.

        1. @leonkfox Little bit of whiskey on her dummy/noo noo (whatever you call it) that'll shut her up, but not put her out if that's the worry

              1. @leonkfox No more than falling down the odd flight of stairs! They'll still be able to say Apple and jump and all the other things non-brain damaged people do.

                  1. @leonkfox At no point should you follow anything remotely resembling parenting advice from me, justifications about minor brain damage or otherwise!
