@twispark Still it's nice to respect people who physically can't watch the episode till a later date, that's why the rules are being enforced a lot stronger than usual.

@greydragon412 Statistically, staying online all day is a poor way to avoid spoilers. I've made it out to Wednesday without spoilers by logging off as much as possible.

@eaglehooves I just don't read the words that follow the words that lead me to believe spoilers are about to be described :P has worked so far (I only caught up in time to see finale... soworthit)

@eaglehooves Yes, but there is a certain amount of restraint everypony should be expected to exercise, for the sake of courtesy. In the case of this site, it's even codified in the 48 hour rule.

@bitshift Yes, and it annoys me that people elsewhere don't exhibit that, but RDN is basically self enforced (by the time the mods can see it, everyone can, and the damage is done). I'm not defending spoiling things, but just saying that RDN isn't the best way to black yourself out.

@eaglehooves Oh, definitely. The trouble is, RDN itself, and people you only know via RDN, are two things that can't be separated. The rule exists so that those who want to talk to people they know on RDN can do so, while still being able to avoid spoilers if needed (while within a reasonable timeframe after the episode, that is).

@eaglehooves So while avoiding RDN would be a watertight solution to avoiding the spoilers there, it isn't really a practical one.

@eaglehooves Going without talking to your friends? Certainly sounds impractical to me. Also, it's not necessarily as little as "a few hours" before someone can see it, else the 48-hour rule would be a lot shorter.

@bitshift I'm assuming you'd want to see the episode before the rule expires. And no offense to RDN or you, but that does seem to imply that you don't have friends other than RDN.

@eaglehooves And you seem to be assuming that cutting yourself off from a subset of your friends is nothing more than mildly impractical. Sure, most/all people will have _other_ friends, but that's no reason why you should have to avoid some of your friends just to avoid spoilers from other users of RDN.

@greydragon412 No, but knowing that they do occur, you put yourself in the line of fire. We have never in the past had 100% compliance for all 48 hours.
