@purplephish20 4chan - you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy
Monday, 23-Apr-12 21:49:39 UTC from web-
@crusader8 You seem to think that all of 4chan is made up of /b/. That would be like saying all bronies are cloppers. :p

@minti Yea to be fair not everypony clops like minti

@minti BTW am using the mint refresh thing on my laptop, when you click reply it'd be better if it snapped to #notice_data-text instead of the top I thinks, (that id being the field you type into)

@minti there's a big difference in that comparison. I don't care if I am assumed to clop for being a brony, because that's all our own business. But there's enough harmful bs that self-righteous 4chan members have knowingly collaborated on together to make others miserable that I wonder why anyone with common sense would ever associate themselves with that site. It's all association - why would you join a group that is notorious for this and expect to be considered different from the rest? 4chan members go to anime cons all the time to make sure people who aren't physically perfect feel terrible for enjoying something that these 4chan members also like but feel its standards are threatened by "imperfect" fans. Why would anyone want to condone those actions by being a member? Simply put - if you are a member of a community that harbors these kinds, you are telling people "I accept that they do this and do not oppose their actions." If you don't approve of it, don't be a part the problem

@crusader8 Again. You assume 4chan is only made up of /b/. Remember, 20% of anything makes up 80% of what people see it as.
Monday, 23-Apr-12 22:10:00 UTC from web-
@minti no, I do not assume, I *know* that if we are to use arbitrary numbers, 20% of 4chan members have not taken responsibility for their behavior and the other 80% are members who, by being members and doing nothing, are telling everyone out there they are perfectly fine and dandy with the actions of the 20%. By knowingly being a member, they are condoning the 20%'s actions. I thought I worded myself very clearly previously, but I suppose walls of text can get confusing

@crusader8 Actually, the entire site is completely separated as far as boards. Most people stick to one or two boards and don't give a rats papayas about the other ones. And those aren't arbitrary numbers, look up the 20:80 rule. Ah well, can't win em all. If you wanna think that the entire site is bad because of one small dark corner of it, that's your problem.
Monday, 23-Apr-12 22:22:05 UTC from web-
@minti You go girl
Monday, 23-Apr-12 22:23:06 UTC from web -
@minti T-T so this is what it feels like to have one's words completely ignored *ahem* the separation is not the issue, nor does it totally make it okay by any means. In fact if anything it frightens me even more that the operators have divided the 4chan site into sections with different signs: "alright, normal folks go here, a*holes who go out into the world and terrorize innocent anime fans and other fandoms akin to their lot, stick to this section so the normal section can pretend you don't exist." Am I the only one who wonders how any admin on that site can run that place with a clean conscience? Or it could be I'm outspoken right now because of a gap in empathy. It's possible you've never been a victim of their authorized actions, or known a victim. Which I can't blame you for not having experienced something firsthand, nor would I wish it on you. I'm done now unfortunately, because the more I talk the less seriously everyone takes me. Having a Twi moment, I suppose.

@crusader8 Crusader! You have no deadlines! They're all in your head! Stop being crazy!
Monday, 23-Apr-12 22:32:26 UTC from web -
@crusader8 Haha. Yeah I guess you have a point there, never really looked at it like that. If I remember correctly, it took moot a few years to actually associate his real name with his handle cause he was afraid of people knowing he ran the site. And nah, I've never had anyone near me specifically targeted by them, and I find that aspect quite amusing cause if they were to target me (for what ever reason, I've never given em any.) I'd just laugh at all their attempts to ruin my life. :p
