What happened when mrdragon got the site that made the servers so horrible? There were pretty much no problems before that.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:00:01 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse Completely different server. Dragons might have less memory or something, dunno.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:00:25 UTC from web-
@minti As a dragon, I can confirm that my memory is absolutely terrible.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:01:46 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Shh you! xD I dunno why but I don't like calling him Mr Dragon. :/ *goes to bed* ..
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:02:52 UTC from web-
@minti Oh sorry, I didn't look at the context and the lack of an apostrophe caused me to misread.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:04:28 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Figured as much. ;p

@minti We should find someone else whos is better.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:03:01 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse That would be very hard to find. I don't know many people who would be willing to offer a server with 4 GB+ Memory (and root access) just for hosting a brony twitter. xD
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:04:58 UTC from web-
@minti Lets get one of these brony celebrities again. They're sure to have some sort of money from all these donations I hear of them getting.

@alargesmallhorse They'd also have be trustworthy and have lots of money they don't mind hemorrhaging each month. If you really want to see things improve, try one of the donation links!
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:05:48 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel I'll donate when I feel like donating.

@alargesmallhorse Good luck with that. This costs Dragon a solid $150 a month.

@ceruleanspark Dreamhost Dedicated?
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:08:57 UTC from web-
@minti Rapidswitch something.
-
@ceruleanspark Weird, whois directed me to Dreamhost. xD
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:10:26 UTC from web-
@minti The domain is dreamhost held.
-
@ceruleanspark Now it's giving me some Verio crap, according to an IP lookup. Heh, I'm going nowhere with this. (Why am I even doing this.._
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:14:15 UTC from web-
@minti We're http://217.147.83.20
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:15:08 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark Yeah okay a DNS lookup on the domain gives me 128.242.54.18. I AM TIRED AND DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HAYSEED I'M DOING APPARENTLY. ;__;

@ceruleanspark Suddenly the amount I want to donate seems so small, even though it's probably bigger than what anyone else is giving.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:09:47 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark Last I heard, it was mid double digits. Guess we've really grown since then.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:10:03 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse If it was mid-doubles, I'd be doing it myself.
-
@ceruleanspark Well excuuuuuse me, Cerulean. I had not heard of prices since the Cabal days, so I guess that would contribute.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:13:15 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse I'm just saying, I wouldn't have asked someone else to expend their resources saving the site if I could have saved it alone.
-
@ceruleanspark Aww you love us. <3

@alargesmallhorse @ceruleanspark If I could pay off my credit card debt entirely, the extra money I'd have each month would be able to pay for RDN more than twice over. I feel new motivation welling inside me to pick up some extra shifts..
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:19:34 UTC from web-
@pony Watch out, we got a mare-do-well over here!
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:21:59 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse I still have student loans after my consumer debts are paid off, but I could probably spare a good $50 monthly..

@alargesmallhorse It really wouldn't be so hard to raise the money if everypony chipped in a tiny bit probably @welcomepony How many users have you seen today Pinkie?
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:27:50 UTC from web-
@pony I know it may have seemed like a joke, but I would literally probably donate quite a bit of the few hundred on my debit card.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:34:51 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse this is the first site I've ever donated to without expecting some sort of special service.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:35:59 UTC from web-
@pony It's called "donation" for a reason. I mean, they'll probably give you more respect or something for it, but you should never really get anything for donating.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:37:06 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse I set it up so we can't actually see who the donators are to prevent allegations of preferential treatment for donators, even.
-
@ceruleanspark How about just being responsible or something? I see no reason not to at least recognize donators for supporting the place. I'm not saing to give them any special treatment besides a thank you or something.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:41:53 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse I can be responsible, and Dragon can be responsible. However, the minute a mod decision comes out in favour of a donator over a non donator, the accusations are going to start
-
@ceruleanspark Then prove them wrong and explain your point. That's like black people playing the race card.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:46:48 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse @ceruleanspark Lol I dunno, I can see Ceruleans point. I'd be bananased off if I lost an argument with a moderator just because I was fighting with a donator.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:48:08 UTC from web-
@minti See, race card. It feels bad to lose an argument anyway, you're just using the donation thing to hold on to what you can of the argument. Eh. I guess where you're both coming from, I just personally still support knowing who is helping this place out. Also, how would users get the name of the donator any differently than they do now? All they'd have is a thank you or something from admins to mark it more than the users who have donated and already tell people.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:52:07 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse Mmm. I've seen people throw around some pretty bad excuses cause of moderator actions though. :/
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:54:01 UTC from web-
@minti Remember the "subliterate moderator" guy?
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:56:30 UTC from web-
@redenchilada Nope!
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:57:13 UTC from web-
@minti Aww. His rant was funny. He's also the perfect example of making baseless accusations. As a bonus, he stalked me afterward. It's the perfect story!

@redenchilada I've made a point of forgetting that dude's name, because I know it'd infuriate him.

@minti What do you mean?
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:57:52 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse Back when I was a mod on another site, the moderation was a lot stricter so it caused a lot of people to go haywire when they were warned for stuff and go on massive rants and stuff. Most of the time they tried to point out "favourites" and stuff. xD
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:59:40 UTC from web-
@minti Every moderation staff has favorites. It's proven in every community. The point is to not even get close to doing anything that could get you in trouble.

@alargesmallhorse I mean, I'd like to list all the donators on a "thank you" page somewhere, the way Firefox does with its contributors, but I also don't want to give people a free ticket to butthurt.
-
@ceruleanspark If you could redirect them to a page after donating, make a nice thank you page for em' or something. Other than that, loldunno.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:51:07 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark I can't see there being any reason for me wanting to be thanked publicly. Of course, I'm not opposed to it either, just apathetic. The site's functionality and maintenance is thanks enough.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:52:50 UTC from web-
@pony Let's put "Functionality" in air quotes until we can statistically divine whether or not it IS functional.

@minti @alargesmallhorse yup! RDN is just that awesome!

@pony Eh. It's my brony fix.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:40:35 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse The community here is what makes openly being a fan fun for me, not to mention I've gotten emotional support and made real friends here.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:43:35 UTC from web-
@pony This is pretty much the only brony place I can stand and I love ponies so I see no reason NOT to support it.
Wednesday, 25-Apr-12 09:45:41 UTC from web-
@alargesmallhorse yep. RDN is my main goto site for all online socializing, period.
