1. @newpatrol Nopony likes Linux. I can't run it on my laptop, but it makes my older desktop fly.

            1. @minti Still less popular than Windows and OS X overall. :(

            1. @newpatrol OSX never ran very well on my laptop... probably because it was a Dell.

          3. @eaglehooves i absolutely love Linux. If you start up any one of my four laptops, you will see a GRUB bootscreen. Every single one. My desktop would have it too if it wasn't in pieces :P

            1. @techdisk42 My laptop will have one as soon as I get some parts. I want to put an SSD in, make that the boot device, then move the HDD to a second bay, but for now I have the one partition I'm scared to touch, because my life ends if I take it out of commission for any amount of time before I get certain things to certain places.

              1. @eaglehooves I've partitioned my laptops so many times i hardly think about it. I didn't even backup. (I do now, but that's a diffrent story)

      2. @eaglehooves I say windows is fine for average use, but if you want to be doing programming or server stuff, Linux is the ONLY option.

        1. @techdisk42 Ok, if we're talking server OSs, duh.

          1. @eaglehooves I pretty much permanently converted my other win 7 laptop to Ubuntu because windows is about as screwed up as it ever will be on it. Ubuntu is just so clean and quick. I tried to use it on my newest Sony laptop, but there are so many stupid incompatibility errors it's not even funny. Once I build my gaming rig I will have a dual boot Windows and Ubuntu.

            1. @techdisk42 Mine had some funny issues last time I tried it. I'm hoping the drivers have improved by summer. Mint on an SSD will be gloriously fast.
