If there was only a way to make a MediaWiki version of the site. We would have absolutely no problem maintaining it. #wishfulthinking

@cabal There's always openmicroblogger, but I think that's going backwards on the stability scale. (There's a reason nopony has heard of it)
-
@ceruleanspark Might try it on ECH's server, just for the laughs.
-
@ceruleanspark There's also rstat.us (which also implements OStatus, making it able to communicate with status.net, and vice versa), but Ruby is not a language that I can currently get my head around, unfortunately, so I can't vouch for its code quality (but then again, compared to SN...).
-
@ceruleanspark I thought ya took that down?
-
@techdisk42 I did. Then I brought it back. I use it to test weird server configurations and stuff to see what works. I was going to try facebook's crazy Hiphop thing next.
-
@ceruleanspark Hm. *goes and checks*
-
@bitshift I feel like it says something about their code quality that their user 1 is a remote subscription from a statusnet instance.
-
@ceruleanspark If you mean @jpope, that would be his ID on _his_ instance, if you look at the URL. Otherwise, you'll have to direct me to a URL for what you're talking about.
-
@bitshift I did mean Jpope. I like that guy. I also like his instances style. Do you think people here would like the fading-sidebar thing he has going?
-
@ceruleanspark No idea. I certainly liked it when I first saw it, but I am not a good baseline for judging whether things are a good idea.
-
@bitshift My design principle is test-by-whining. Make the change, see who cherrieses. Dragon wishes I wouldn't.
-
@cabal shut up.

@quetzalcoatl no
