@hakupony He's one of the most popular and prominent brony animators out there and they skip his content because they don't feel it meets standards anymore. I understood their initial complaint about Shed a little, but c'mon. EQD has really been going downhill, especially as of late.

@abigpony Much as I do love a good EQD bashing, I don't think they ever claimed to be democratic or objective or anything. It might be up on a pedastal, but it is, at its heart, some dude's blog.

@abigpony If they're supposed to be a news source, why are they so awful at it? For news, DerpyHoovesNews has a much better signal/noise ratio in that the homepage isn't constantly cluttered with author-bullmurdock.

@ceruleanspark Well EQD seems to be better for fan media such as fics and pictures and popular stuff from the fandom while DHN seems to be more straightforward regarding outside sources that may effect the fandom. It really is pretty unfair to compare the two, but EQD is just too big a source to drop it's ego.

@abigpony That's how I regard them. If I want news, I go to DHN, if I want artwork and circlejerking, I go to EQD.

@abigpony That's my point. There is no objective measurement for quality and personal taste does not do the job. If you want to be a site for the whole fandom, you must accept what many fans like.

@hakupony Their staff just turned to egotistical murdocks and forgot that. The thing is that they really can't be a reliable source anymore anyway since there is so much to keep up with. They're gonna end up disappointing some people, but they gotta learn right from wrong and they tend to have difficulties with that sometimes.

@abigpony It's the same way as with newspapers: sometime, you will hear complaints from all sides and filter your information, thus alienating some users. That's why i prefer networks like this one.

@hakupony well I avoid news because of bias that will eventually come into play. They have "large" and "small", so that part ain't really a problem. The thing with this is that there's too much "mediocre"
