    1. @purplephish20 Job hunting would be the more prudent option...

    3. @purplephish20 you could job hunt with the intention of using your future income to support a lifestyle in which you could draw to your heart's content.

      2. @pony That kind of is the reason to get a job - to give you the opportunity to live as you like...

        1. @hakupony yeah.. I was once deluded and thought that work in and of itself could be a way to happiness. It seems I was at least partly mistaken, at least in my case. In the current economy finding work that somepony enjoys even marginally which will sustain them is a huge plus. Once I discovered that was the case I realized I'm practically already half way to living the dream.

          1. @pony You know you make a marxist argument right now? In past societies (especially medieval societies) what you did for a living was what you were. If you were a farmer, this was your reason in life. When industrialisation kept on, we parted from our work pieces and work was more and more about getting money. So today, we work to get money which lets us do what we want, that is the individual purpose of work today. I study to get a job which fulfills me on it's own, but that is pure luxury today.

            1. @hakupony That's interesting. Yeah I've often thought what it might be like to live in a feudal society. I don't think I'd like it very much, but, of course, I wouldn't have a choice.
