@vt3c Just avoid the idiots, as you seem to be good at doing already, then don't allow friends that post crappy things...or hide them from your wall if you HAVE to keep them as a friend, such as family or something.

#vt3c I had a friend who said bronies were weird, and a year later, he actually just randomly converted.
-
@vt3c Whoa. That escalated quickly. People are awful and closed-minded sometimes. I know a local guy who's forced to room with two other folks, and he's trying to get into MLP and stuff. They threaten him, call him gay, and other things...He is afraid to watch the show around them and waits for them to leave. They're so stupid that they consider cartoons to be only for children and don't even watch Adult Swim because they only watch, in their words, "grown-up tv like Duck Dynasty."
-
@vt3c One of my ex-friends got all doleed off when he found out I was brony. Calling me autistic and retarded. It was ironic because he is the same age as me and his spelling makes English teachers cry themselves to sleep http://rainbowdash.net/url/581797
-
@clayinthecarpet Hah, people actually watch Hick Dynasty.
-
@datpolishguy I should wear a brony wristband or SF hirt.
-
@datpolishguy I love how you just said "ex-friends"...That's how things work out. XD
-
@vt3c My dad watches it. It's a shame because he's otherwise a fine person.
-
@vt3c A lot of people DO feel that way, but there are far more idiots in the world than people who know how to just...respect others' differences. Being a brony has made it INFINITELY harder for me to find new friends, though I've apparently made a few in here. Thing is, when I found it, I was already LONG out of high school and didn't care at all what anyone thought of me because...high school is high school and that mentality disappears (for the most part) once you're out in the real world (though I hear it persists a bit in college, too).
-
@clayinthecarpet "Being a brony has made it INFINITELY harder for me to find new friends" That's because you live in a small town in a Southern state. :v
-
@redenchilada I don't hate anybody for watching it, but to call it "grown-up tv" is...particularly indicative of a low IQ level, in my opinion.
-
@redenchilada Actually? I live in a pretty sizable city. I am just introverted to a huuuuuuuuge degree and most people don't relate to me *at all* so I like to keep them far, far away.
-
@clayinthecarpet Calling it TV at all is pretty bad.
clayinthecarpet likes this. -
@vt3c That is what this fandom is for me. It's "making the best of it" for a few years and also some self-discovery and self-expression going on in there, too.
-
@vt3c NICE! Funny story: Today, I had to go to the grocery store to buy some eggs, and I !$%# you not, as I was walking through the parking lot with my bagged eggs, someone driving by me in a Jeep shouted out "BRONIES FOR LIFE!" because I am wearing a shirt with Twilight cane on it. XD I yelled back, "HELL YEAH!"
-
@clayinthecarpet A population of less than 100,000 is a small town to me. Maybe not totally podunk, but still pretty small.
-
@vt3c I agree with that, for sure. I've met some awful people in this fandom, too, though...I saw some guy on Facebook today post an article about 3 brony kids who killed themselves...and he argued that they were "stupid and deserved to die." I wanted to rip that guy a new !#@hole. AND HE WAS A BRONY, TOO! People are insane.
-
@redenchilada That makes sense. But this town houses one of the largest companies in the world...In fact, about 2/3 of the town IS the company. Ever heard of Eastman?
-
@clayinthecarpet Not particularly.
-
@vt3c :D
-
@vt3c I went to a brony meetup in Bristol, VA not long ago and met a bunch of bronies...It was in December and the first brony meetup I'd ever attended. They were all nice people, and I joined their FB page and chatted with them almost nightly for a couple weeks. Problem was, one of the mods there COMPLETELY disrespected the idea that sharing someone else's drawings/vectors/digital paintings/photographs without crediting the artist was an important act of respect. He argued with me about it for like 2 hours and finally, I just asked them to ban me. They did and I deleted them all from my friends list because...that disrespected me as a person - as an artist. What the hell is it hurting you to just copy the link of the images you found on a random Google search and add it to your stupid flood of FB updates? It's selfish and it's WRONG. If you don't do it because you never thought about it and want to change that, that's one thing.
-
@clayinthecarpet >going to a meetup in Virginia instead of one in the state you live in
>whyyyy -
@redenchilada I live right on the state line of Virginia/TN and it was, quite literally, the ONLY bronies group around here for about 50 miles in any direction.
-
@vt3c It's worth having a Facebook, man. Seriously. You gotta network that !$%#.
