      @sprite Competitive rulesets tend to make a lot of the matches feel very "samey" though.

      @sprite Since I generally only play with people I know, we tend to use a lot of adhoc rules to try and keep play evolving and interesting.

      @sprite We're all adults in our play circle, so we don't really have to worry that someone is going to field a team of 6 Mewtwos or Arceus (Outside of a joke) just because "there's no rule against it". When our gen 4 battles totally stagnated into "Salamence Vs Tyranitar 4ever" we just banned that whole family
