I keep thinking of the furry thing as a more modern-age animal worship. Maybe because I'd rather think about the spiritual and make comparisons that have no base.

@awlditzy I've thought about "the possible origination of furries" for many years, and I've simply come to the conclusion that it must've started with Disney's earlier work. That spawned Looney Tunes, which spawned all the other stuff we have today that's slightly anthro in some way.
