I have friends who think vaccines cause autism - I think I'm going to die

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline Babies can have allergic reactions to the solution and should be given a small test for compatibility before vaccination, but the autism thing is baseless as far as I've read. My wife has done hours of research into it and believes it's good to wait, but not too long.

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline The problem is that doctors and hospitals don't wait or test unless specifically asked. They're sometimes heartlessly mechanical and think they know undoubtedly what's best.

@pony what does that have to do with my friends buying internet hype?

@pony nvm, I understand what you're saying. The biggest issue is, if someone publishes a study that turns out to be crap, the internet media still pass it around as word of god (if you'll forgive the expression), then hyper-gullible people fall for it. Once that happens, politicians catch onto the hype and spin it into an agenda once parties take side

@snowcone yes. (On that subject, I've seen too many mlp surveys whose questions pretty much are guilty of leading the question/begging the question)
