    stunning... I just installed NextGEN gallery and it ignored my carefully renamed wp-content directory, and re-created that on its own and installed itself in there. # # #

      @mk correction - it actually create wp-content and put a *gallery* in there. still not good - will have to hack the code so it doesn't use a hard-coded directory name! !grrr

        @mk It's actually an option - but it shoudln't suggest a not-existing directory!

          @mk stupid me should have looked for settings first, of course. all fixed now, including direct-edting the database to fix the location of my first (trial) gallery. phew! It seems I'm in need of more caffeine... #
