@northernnarwhal at least you guys have the capacity to find meetups. The part of Missouri that I'm in is completely dead when it comes to that kind of thing.

@theyurityphoon Bummer. I guess I'm lucky because I've gotten a few of my existing offline friends into MLP, and I've made a few new friends offline thanks to MLP.

@northernnarwhal not many friends offline. Like... four. Two of which I haven't talked to in a long time due to conflicting schedules. The other two aren't into and never will be into MLP.

@theyurityphoon I generally use the term "friend" to encompass everything from lab partners to band mates to people I study with. But I'm sure to a lot of people I'm really just "that guy", but I've certainly gotten to know a fair bit of people well. So maybe I'm cheating a bit, but I do still have ~2-3 real genuine friends.

@northernnarwhal When I say 'friends' in this instance, I mean people that I regularly socialize with on a frequent basis. The only other two people that I talk to all the time are my parents. I don't talk to a lot of people IRL because I don't care to and because I'm really awkward/antisocial like we were talking about before.

@theyurityphoon In the past few months I've been trying to put myself out more (to limited success, mind you) but at the very least I think after so many failures I'm bound to improve my ability to talk to people, even if I always get incredibly flustered if I'm looking at someone directly (regardless of gender).
