@flamingpandaomg Well, for me it depends on your definition of dubstep. A lot of "brostep" is one of the few genres I've yet to find anything I like in yet, but in terms of sorta underground dubstep that's true to what dubstep originally was Burial is great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k_f2QK77ew

@flamingpandaomg A lot of early dubstep focused more on drawing influence from DnB and UK Garage with 2 step rhythmic stylings and actually has a lot of atmosphere and dynamic. It essentially had a polyrhythmic half time feel that took a bit of influence from reggae in its earliest inceptions. Brostep is essentially a popularized but streamlined EDM subgenre that is only loosely related to early dubstep at best and, if anything, is a sleazy knockoff of a lot of electro-house but at a slower BPM. It lacks any kind of dynamic or fluency and has predictable crescendos as well as thick but one dimensional production. It's a scene that lacks any kind of forward thinking songwriting, which can be forgiven in some other cases, but can't here as it only further highlights the fact that many of the songs are nothing more than club fodder. But that's just my opinion.

@flamingpandaomg But in all honestly if you like brostep all the more power to you. Don't let some schmuck on the internet tell you you can't listen to it. That long winded rant was just me sort of explaining why I have yet to find anything I like within the brostep genre, and my qualms with it.
