  1. Aww man Dark Souls 2 is really damn awesome, I don't think I've gotten so immersed in a game since the first one.

    1. @northernnarwhal It could use more skeletons though.

      1. @nerthos I don't have any divine weapons so the lack of skeletons has made it easier to explore the massive overworld.

        1. @northernnarwhal I still haven't fought the first boss. Accidentally dropped from the place where the eagle drops the armored thing too and it went away before I climbed back on. I want skeletons for the sake of effigies.

          1. @nerthos I've beaten 3 bosses so far. Also, would/do skeletons drop effigies? I was wondering if there's any way to farm them (kind of like how you could farm humanity from rats in DS1)

            1. @northernnarwhal Fought one under the mansion and it dropped an effigy.

              1. @nerthos Oh neat. Which mansion?

                1. @northernnarwhal The one in the town, with the pigs next to it. I still haven't tried my hand at bosses since I started as the naked guy and only now have acquired somewhat decent armor (falconeer's)

                2. @northernnarwhal You should know however that the mansion's skeleton doesn't respawn

                  1. @nerthos Do you need divine weapons to kill them and do you need to use the front entrance (it said the door was locked for me)

                    1. @northernnarwhal I killed it with a longsword. No necromancer around. You get the key from the map guy, Go through the door behind the fat armored guy after the bonfire with the merchant hag. Stand on the tree ramp near where the eagle drops the big guy, and jump down to a wooden thing that connects with a roof. From the roof jump over a hole towards another wooden platform, you should see a cave in the back. Enter the cave and be careful with the boulder that'll roll down. Go the way the boulder came from and you'll find a guy, talk with him a lot and he'll give you a key.

                      1. @nerthos No, wait, ignore the armored fat guy part.

                        1. @nerthos Okay, sure thing.

                          1. @northernnarwhal I mixed things up, the fat guy comes after you climb down the stairs after climbing the tree thing to the top.

                            1. @nerthos That clears things up.

                              1. @northernnarwhal Inside the mansion you'll find the other half of the key the hag sells for 4k

                            2. @nerthos What weapons and armour are you using right now?

Sunday, 27-Apr-14 05:09:26 UTC from web
                              1. @northernnarwhal Longsword and shortsword, kite shield, falconeer's and the merchant blue hat that raises item discovery

Sunday, 27-Apr-14 05:10:31 UTC from web
                                1. @nerthos I have that hat as well, as well as a knight armour set I found in a further area after some boss battles. Currently using the lightning sword I got from defeating the white knight under the tree in the forest. It's fast, has a decent range, very good moveset and damage, and is a great way to get elemental damage early in. Also, I've been having trouble parrying so I bought a twin dragon greatshield that I can turtle with for the time being.

                                  1. @northernnarwhal I didn't attack the white guy both because of poor equipment and because he never did anything to me

Sunday, 27-Apr-14 05:14:57 UTC from web
                                    1. @nerthos I tried attacking him once to see what would happen (I got my ass kicked). But I was playing with Snow and he (wanting to one up) managed to defeat it and was telling me about the sword he dropped. Decided I would give him another go with some better items and managed to beat him with a bit of clever maneuvering. It's definitely worth it, I haven't unequipped this weapon since I got it.

                      2. @nerthos Thanks a bunch. Favouriting this for later.
