I need to get new vegas

@valiantratchet Yes, you do. Get the ultimate edition if possible, I simply can't recommend the story DLC enough. (The other two DLC also add: 1) some very nice weapons, 2) some very nice starting gear, but they're not really essential. But the ultimate edition is cheaper than buying the game and all 4 story DLCs, so whether or not the non-story DLCs appeal doesn't even need to factor into it.)

@bitshift I would argue that the GRA pack is essential if you're doing an energy weapons playthrough

@ceruleanspark YCS/186 and the Holorifle are not in GRA. But then, I suspect most of my stuff from before those was, so... yeah. (Also, the MF Hyperbreeder Alpha is a wonderful backup weapon.)

@bitshift Proper ironsights on the laser pistol, upgrades for the plasma pistol etc
Saturday, 19-May-12 13:35:43 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark On the GRA laser/plasma pistols, anyway. It kinda bothers me that they couldn't (or maybe didn't) just make the mods apply to the pre-existing models. :(

@bitshift Probably something to do with the NPC's using the weapons and having to modify NPC loadouts, and conflicts between DLC versions and existing saves
Saturday, 19-May-12 13:38:03 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark Yep. The separation of the various ESMs is apparently beneficial for managing the complexity of such a large game, but I do wish it didn't present problems like that. :(

@ceruleanspark Hm, or do I mean ESPs? Whichever one is correct, anyway.

@bitshift Pew Pew is also not in GRA, but again getting it takes some doing.

@toksyuryel Ah, just looked it up. Now I actually want to find more Star Caps, if only so I can have that in my inventory. :3

@toksyuryel A little disappointing that it consumes 5 cells per shot, though. :(
Saturday, 19-May-12 13:44:57 UTC from web-
@bitshift Needs to be reloaded every two shots too, and is only about 1/3rd as durable as other laser pistols. However, it more than makes up for it in raw stopping power and being an excellent holdout weapon.
Saturday, 19-May-12 13:46:14 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Yes, being that powerful while still being a holdout (only improved holdout, I think, but still good) weapon is certainly a plus.

@bitshift It apparently used to consume 15 cells per shot, so this is an improvement I suppose!
Saturday, 19-May-12 13:46:48 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Yeah. I'm glad that got patched, 15 cells/shot sounds pretty ridiculous, even for that much damage output. I mean, heck, the YCS/386 (>400 DPS with full Energy Weapons skill) only consumes 4 MFC per shot, which is equivalent to 6 SEC, given the conversion rate in the crafting bench.
Saturday, 19-May-12 13:52:58 UTC from web-
@bitshift The Tesla-Beaton Prototype used to consume 45 ECS per shot and need to reload every time. I still used it :D
Saturday, 19-May-12 13:54:19 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel ECS == SEC, or ECS == ECP?
Saturday, 19-May-12 13:55:57 UTC from web-
@bitshift Meant ECP lol
Saturday, 19-May-12 13:56:37 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel Yeah, that's why I asked for clarification; you made pretty much the one typo that could've gone either way. :)
