  1. You know what feels good? Using a PS1 emulator with actual legit games that I own. And a PS3 controller emulating an Xbox controller.

      1. @nachsplitter Naw. They try to be, but you still don't get the same feeling.
Also, the fact it attempts to upscale the graphics causes some very weird effects due to the low resolution of the textures. Original equipment all the way.

        1. @techdisk upscaled graphics too often look muddly and bleh

          1. @pony It's not even that. I was playing Gran Turismo and the track literally looked like it was moving around like water because the vectoring was so off. (not sure if vectoring is the right term, but still)

            1. @techdisk heh. Well if there's a system that uses vectoring to upscale graphics that would be really interesting, but I imagine the algorithm would have to be modified for each game.

        2. @techdisk The emulator I use does no upscaling and looks basically indistinguishable from an actual PS1. Right down to the lack of depth testing!

          1. @redenchilada Which non-epsxe emulator do you use?

            1. @techdisk psxfin. I've considered switching to Mednafen at some point, but haven't gotten around to trying it out.
