@pawnheart Unlike the Gateway i had last. Completely busted within one year. I literally replaced it exactly one year after i got it with this vaio. (Gateway: Bought december 27, 2010. Replaced December 27, 2011)

@techdisk42 I didn't even realise Gateway were still going! The screen on my cheap-murdock acer buggered up within six months of purchase... doing okay now I've replaced it but you really do get what you pay for with these things, it would seem.

@techdisk42 My laptop busted ten months after I got it... Fortunately, customer service was fast and awesome and within a week or so it was completely fixed. I want to say the original had defective cooling.

@pawnheart Lol, Same with my Gateway. about two months after i got it, a crack appeared in the casing. 5 months in, the screen starts flashing white all the time unless held a certan way.

@pawnheart My older brother had an Acer laptop, which he barely used. He nudged it wrong once, weeks after getting it, and the screen was completely destroyed. It was the last time my mother ever bought him anything expensive.

@redenchilada well, I think they use pretty low-grade components... not that I'm an expert, or owt.

@pawnheart Oh, did i mention that gateway had 4 USB ports? no? oh, thats because 3 of them broke due to the circuitboard (that was seperate from the main board) that they were soldered to SNAPPED IN FRIKKIN HALF.

@pawnheart Well, I _do_ know that the rest of my family's laptops have been dragged through a bunch of stuff and still work perfectly. Mine had a hinge issue because of defective cooling (I assume), but otherwise we haven't had problems in a year and three months of owning them!

@pawnheart My NES might still work... after traveling in a rubbermaid tub for 200 miles with the top removed. I haven't checked yet!

@pawnheart Never had it. I played super Mario world for my whole childhood and a half. The game is just so nostalgic. Tis why I made a floppy music vid of the athletic theme from it.
