Macklemore is to rap music what Taco Bell is to Mexican Cuisine.

@northernnarwhal But I love Taco Bell but not Mack[le]more. what do
-
@rarity I was going for "Okay once in a while but an obviously watered down version of a more authentic product designed and marketed to white people"
-
@northernnarwhal that's even more in depth than I though
-
@northernnarwhal taco bell is the only place where it is cheaper to eat out than at home. Don't hate it's my go to.
-
@bakasenpai I go to Taco Bell every now and then to, but I've also been to Mexico and had the food there and it's on an entirely other level.
-
@northernnarwhal ya. It's a lot more than 69¢ too
-
@bakasenpai You get what you pay for
-
@rarity I can't come with a food analogy for last year's grammies but those really frustrated me too, though I should really stop caring about useless awards run by people more out of touch than my schizophrenic grandfather.
-
@northernnarwhal I was so furious about those grammies... I had a long discussion in my Journalism class the next day about how Macklemore only won because he's white
-
@rarity Yeah and his music is accessible as murdock to white people who just want to dance. good kid m.A.A.d city is one of the best hip hop albums in years, Kendrick is a master of writing very cinematic and emotionally demanding music. But, you know, all that violence and meanie swearing in music is scary and clearly just a manifestation of his culture growing up and not a critique of it.
