      @y not really, shoot-em-ups are about spamming and basically just running. bullet hell gameplay revolves around recognizing patterns and dodging as you shoot. they are similar but have that key difference also: steam, 'Realm of the Mad God is the first ever free to play Bullet Hell MMO. '

      @y It /is/ a bullet hell. You shoot loads of little bullets while you navigate the screen to avoid the multitude of bullets the enemy shoots in patterns at you. The very definition of the genre.
