    @c @y @scoot people. defining a game genre is like a movie genre. almost all movies have components of 4 or more overarching genres, but only the most prominent genre is what it is classified as. since we are using rotmg as an example. It is an MMO, yes. It is a shootemup, yes. It is a bullet hell, Yes. It is an RPG, yes. But bullet hell and shootemup are the most prominent. the reason bullet hell is its favored description is because bullet hell implies a large portion of the gameplay revolving around skillful dodging and patter recognition.

      @pianissima I've been trained 3 times in genre definition, at school, college and university. It's not that difficult to pick the dominant genre.
