        1. @thewaifutyphoon I have no clue, the background just seemed appropriate.

          1. @nahff it just looks like stereotypical WW2 theme to me

            1. @thewaifutyphoon Reminds me of how the Russians sent out their recruits in pairs, one with ammo, the other with the gun.

              1. @metaltao usually because the MGs they used were so heavy and required so much ammo that they were forced to do that.

                1. @thewaifutyphoon That and they didn't have enough guns to go around, they would shot anyone that retreated... they did so in front the MG Nests... into the fray... IT WAS SAD! ;=; @nahff This one is good to! http://rainbowdash.net/url/771080

                  1. @metaltao it was their fault in the end, so there's really no room to pity them.

              2. @metaltao All armies did that back in the day. That's why they were MG /crews/

                1. @nerthos no you're supposed to carry the MG, the ammo, your hot pockets and your 3DS all by yourself

Sunday, 27-Jul-14 03:30:49 UTC from web
                2. @nerthos No I mean like, they were not MG crew. The MG's were back aways, these guys had like pistols... and ammo clips...

                  1. @metaltao What you're failing to get is that MGs were operated by two guys, in all armies. Like an artillery unit. They were supposed to offer fire support to conventional infantry rather than fight in the front lines. A support unit doesn't need regular combat weaponry other than a sidegun.

                    1. @nerthos WHat I am saying is, these were not MG;s they were rifles...

                      1. @metaltao Oh, you're talking about the early Stalin era red army. Stalin had basically decapitated the red army with political purges, that's why thy didn't have any semblance of strategy or logistics. After they ouldn't take Finland a lot of the old generals were drafted back into service and conditions improved a lot.

                    3. @nerthos They sent them in as cannon fodder with one guy having an unloaded gun, the other would have the ammo clips for said gun.... they were one man operated guns and did not need another person.

                3. @nerthos @metaltao MG42, Hitler's Buzzsaw, was ~12kg unloaded, usual tripod was twice as heavy.

                4. @nerthos I didn't say they were MG crews... they had PPshs and uch and had barrel rounds, but one guy held the ammo, the other would have the gun, so when one was killed, they could pick up both...
