Wonder if it's my heritage that helps me to keep a knife on me at all times.
-
@awlkhalyan I've been carrying one lately, and it's definitely already proved it's usefulness. The internet says it's bananas though, although I don't think it'sbad
-
@awlkhalyan Your jewish curls required your ancestors to carry one until they reached full adulthood and became bald.
-
@rarity Knives are never dole. Never.
-
@awlkhalyan this is the one I have http://www.gerbergear.com/Tactical/Knives/Remix-Tactical_31-001098 I really would love an Opinel or a Kershaw Cryo though so that's probably my next purchase on payday
-
@rarity damn, good steel too.
-
@l1ghtsword that's literally the opposite opinion of everyone else I've heard so I'll assume that's sarcasm
-
@rarity This is why you should /never/ listen to me ;p
-
@rarity More utility I think than "tactical" but still anything can be used as a weapon.
-
@awlkhalyan Well yeah I don't carry it for defense, I carry it for utility. Obviously the tactical part is just because it's blacked out and marketing guff and all that. I'm pretty sure that a tanto blade with serrations is absolutely useless for anything BUT utility purposes
-
@rarity With enough force you can still gut someone. Or just swipe them and give them a nasty cut.
-
@awlkhalyan well if I wanted a knife for hurting people I'd get a stiletto
Light likes this. -
@rarity http://www.backpackgeartest.org/reviews/Knives/Folding/Gerber%20Legendary%20Blades%20Instant%20Knife/Test%20Report%20by%20Larry%20Kirschner/ According to this, the steel isn't bad.
-
@nerthos its also not great :/
-
@awlkhalyan The proper term is "taticool"
-
@rarity Yo, those blades are dope!
-
@nerthos *tacticool
Light likes this. -
@nerthos well then all the hate was probably just part of the overall circlejerk against Gerber products. I'm certainly happy with it for $30
-
@nerthos word
-
@rarity KaBar.
-
@l1ghtsword It cuts and lasts and that's what matters in an utility blade. Due to the lenght of the knife it doesn't need to be really resistant since it won't be faced with too much strain.
-
@nerthos This is true, its a nit picky thing. But given the use yeah its a good design.
-
@awlkhalyan @colfax used to have a pretty nice classic style Kabar. Not sure if he still ahs it.
-
@nerthos I'd sure hope he kept it, but given his situation...
-
@awlkhalyan Yeah. It might have ended up on the storage unit though.
-
@nerthos Nope, cops impounded it, thanks to my papayas of an ex. But I can get another one easily enough.
