        @derpyshy canon is old language for list. First equated with attempting to create the Christian Bible by ruling out which oral traditions or written tales weren't to be used in the New Testament based on what the original founded church believed to be the most important stories to tow the line of the faith. Now the word is just used by nerds.

        @derpyshy @greydragon412 Ditzy Doo is canon. That was her original name planned for canon, then fans hijacked the character, Derpy became canon, things, happened, now it's back* (emphasis being back) to Ditzy Doo. Bon Bon, Colgate, Vinyl Scratch, and dozens of other BP's are all canon but are constantly being referred to by their unofficial names, although many of them have official names by now with the exception of Bon Bon.
