  1. Did you know that Dimitri Mandeleev not only made a very accurate list of the elements, (Of which we still use a s variation of.) he predicted the traits of elements not yet discovered simply by the patterns he observed by the current atomic numbers of the elements known? (I butchered that like crazy.)

      1. @pandabear My mind did a quick check on prolific Russian names before recognising it.

        1. @awlditzy It's a scientifically proven fact. Also I'm surprised you recognized it honestly.

          1. @pandabear Ellie is to thank for that. I thought he was Russian for the longest time despite not knowing

            1. @awlditzy Nah, he's Canadian. Well he was born in Boston, but his family is Canadian. The name Dmitri came from his mom's Russian boyfriend at the time.

Also yes, Ellie has an unhealthy obsession with him. I, on the other hand, have a perfectly healthy obsession with him.

              1. @pandabear There is no such thing as an unhealthy Dmitri Krushnic obsession.

He smells like cinnamon and watermelon

                1. @ellieellie See, Ellie, that is not the type of thing that normal people know.

              2. @pandabear Hmm... there can be such a thing as "unhealthy obsession" with Dmitri Krushnic... do you happen to know where the name Misha comes from then? Because Misha (миша) is the typical Russian enclitic for the name Mikhayl (михайл)

                1. @awlditzy The name Dmitri was given to him by his father, who was not Russian, but both his parents had an obsession with Russia. When his dad left, he took up the name Misha, derived from Mischa, his mom's college sweetheart and the only man she ever truly loved.

                  1. @ellieellie Wow.... That is, some story... I like that. Gives a great meaning to the name.

                    1. @metaltao It really does. I love it when people's names have a story.

                  2. @ellieellie I thought Dmitri was the boyfriend's name, but I'm certainly not going to question you on the topic of Misha Collins.

                    1. @pandabear Yeah, she met Mischa when she was in college, she did a year as a foreign exchange student in Russia.

                  3. @ellieellie Oh... neat! Krushnic is like a Yugoslavian last name which makes him sound all the more exotic.

                    1. @awlditzy The Krushnic name goes back several generations in Canada. It's probably of Yugoslavian origin or something if you go far enough back. Collins is his great-grandmother's maiden name by the way.

                      1. @ellieellie Man. My legal name sucks in comparison and I fail as a man in comparison to him.

                        1. @awlditzy Don't feel too bad. My legal name sucks in comparison too. And every man fails in comparison to him.
