@pandabear I love Opeth but Pale Communion wasn't my favourite by them, it was a good record but really wore its influences on its sleeve.

@northernnarwhal Eh, I don't disagree. I still really enjoyed the album though. I agree that it's not their best, but I really wouldn't call As the Stars album of the year either.

@pandabear It's definitely a contender for my metal album of the year. Indian's From All Purity was also really damn incredible, the last time I heard a recording so incredibly crushing was when High on Fire dropped De Vermis Mysteriis back in 2012.

@pandabear Oh, As the Stars isn't my AOTY. That's why I said "metal Album of the Year", I was referring to that genre specifically. As far as overall, I still really love Pinata. A U R O R A has been growing on me a lot recently as well, definitely my electronic album of the year and contender for overall AOTY.
