@Northernnarwhal explain to me how Imagine Dragons is bland and uninspired by DCFC isn't

@fyf Because with DCFC they're not some grand innovative super group but it's all in the execution. Their music is a lot more earnest compositionally, and they aren't afraid to let other genres like post rock and pop seamlessly mesh its way into their indie rock vibes.

@northernnarwhal The important word here is "seamlessly", Yes, Imagine Dragons sort of does different styles, but it's always a different song, and it's always a complete change in style. If you heard Demons, Radioactive, and On Top of the World, you wouldn't think "Wow, these all sound like the same group." You'd think "Are these different bands with the same singer?" With DCFC, even when they change it up, you hear anything by them and immediately think "That's mother bananasing Death Cab"

@pandabear Wow. You predicted my rebuttal and shot it down before I even posted it. Well played, madam.

@pandabear Precisely, it really comes down to an intrinsic philosophy of making music. Imagine Dragons would approach it at "So which artist/style are we going to rip off for our next song" whereas DCFC follow a line of thought that's more along the lines of "What if we had this style but grounded it with a style we've established as a group"/
