"MP3 You're so much more fun to listen to than my ex."

@beatstrings I only accept romantic partners who speak to me in 320 kbps or a lossless format so as to not blemish my ears.

@northernnarwhal I agree, 192 kbps always tempted me, but I believe if I search hard enough I'll find a fine 320~
-
@beatstrings 192 is disgusting, you can do better than that. At least get a 256 kbps vbr.
-
@northernnarwhal I only used 192 ONCE, I even went to a full blown debate with my classmate about bitrate difference and how sound works. 256 is by god the lowest I can get, and I always wait for 320 even if that means more waiting.
-
@beatstrings Yeah, I've been listening to music long enough and currently have good enough headphones to hear a difference from bitrate to bitrate. Especially considering a lot of the music I listen to has very dynamic production that would be soiled by inproper bitrate compression. 320 kbps, or alternatively FLAC files are what I always go for.
-
@northernnarwhal FLAC is WAV's anorexic cousin.
-
@northernnarwhal That being said I listened to the new Flying Lotus album that leaked as 256 kbps but it was vbr so it was okay and it leaked and I couldn't wait to hear it.
-
@northernnarwhal Hot damn, that's nifty. Was the liberation of being the few to hear it first worth it?
-
@beatstrings I honestly prefer FLAC, because it's lossless so it's not like quality is lost if you convert, plus it's much more efficient on space and can easily contain tags like title, artist, album, etc.
-
@beatstrings Yeah, the audio itself was great. And the album itself was fantastic as per usual, very experimental and genre crossing which of course FlyLo is no stranger to. A breath of fresh in the current pool of recent releases.
-
@northernnarwhal That's neato, but yeah, I wish WAV could have a brother and set the same standards as FLAC. I grew up with it and the only pains for me is the storage it takes. I don't mind making certain tags untouched.
-
@beatstrings Considering how bloody massive my music collection is I need to catalog everything.
-
@northernnarwhal Sounds awesome, an experience if you may.
-
@northernnarwhal I usually lose my mind and play everything on shuffle. Currently I have 478 tracks so that's how I do it.
-
@beatstrings I think I have more tracks on my phone alone. My overall collection is somewhere from 5 to likely 6 digits
-
@beatstrings It's definitely a standout release for this year, though 2014 has been a pretty solid year in general
-
@northernnarwhal Wow, well I haven't fully loaded my laptop, I just cherry picked my favorites. I bet I'm in around 4-5 digits at best. Including some OST I dig on the folder of the games I like.
-
@beatstrings That isn't counting my vinyl collection either
-
@northernnarwhal Yep, I have heard a few stories of it.
-
@beatstrings Speaking of which, It's not really "music" I think what's causing me to lessen the tracks is because I've started listening to tons of audiobooks for my studies. Hell, I even downloaded some creepypastas for a grand ol' time.

@beatstrings @fyf has plans to rob me
-
@northernnarwhal Who wouldn't feel the slightest envy of a prized collection? But keep away from @fyf tho, y'know, for good measure.
-
@beatstrings The only thing is her fiancee has arguably an even better collection than I do, so too am tempted 0^0
-
@northernnarwhal Oh wow, another musical being.
-
@beatstrings We've gotten into very long discussions :3
-
@northernnarwhal I'm leaving soon, of course I gesture to making my conversations count.
-
@beatstrings 9 the times of the clock.
-
@beatstrings Good luck with your studies then
-
@beatstrings Be back bro! It is less then 5 minutes soon!
