    I really don't want to get involved, but I'd just like to add something small. My school is actually situated directly beside an Islamic school, and for one portion of the religion class curriculum last year my class visited their school where we got to listen to a lecture on Islam. In all honestly, it is an incredibly peaceful and stoic religion, and nowhere whatsoever in the Qur'an does it mention killing or harming anyone for whatever reason. As a people, they have a very strong sense of community and one of their Pillars, Zakat, involves donation to the poor and needy. Many have even theorized the word "Islam" itself comes from the root "al-Salaam" meaning "peace" in Arabic. Don't let the misguided actions of the few sensationalized by the media cloud your judgement of over a billion people worldwide. Thank you.

      @northernnarwhal Nobody with half a brain actually buys the whole "Islam is bad" thing. It's just an excuse some use to get idiots to fight their crusades and profit from it. It worked in the middle ages and it works now.

        @nerthos Oh yeah, I just wanted to get that off my chest. I know I'm preaching to the choir since almost everyone here is smart enough to not buy into sensationalism and to view things from a more objective lens.
