Struggling with Linux mint: locale was set to en-US leading to unreadable date format; trying to fix that I needed a new 17.1 language settings module which had an unmet dependency for which I needed Debian Testing repo. OK so far, but then adding region DK somehow added danish language pack for Thunderbird - but UNinstalled the main application itself. And installing software on a slow connection is painful. !grrr

@mk Thunderbird re-installed at least my (just-configured) profile was still intact (but I created backups while constructing it. All set now *wipes forehead*.
-
@mk final note: date format is still what it was - seems Linux mint is making assumptions here that don't always hold... solution #tomorrow - I've had enough for today
-
@mk did someone say 'yak shaving'? Right.
-
yak shaving
-
@erkanyilmaz right. :-) and good morning!
-
goedemorgen. will your mint adventures go on today?
-
@erkanyilmaz yeah: I still need the date format set to ISO. I should also report two bugs - if I have any time and energy left at the end of the day
-
just in case, put it on a never-ending #todo list :-(
-
@erkanyilmaz thanks for the suggestion. Not. :-(
