Don't know if I shared this from about 3 weeks ago, meditated for a little while after work at the North Mississippi Regional Trail, this was the spot, right as the sun was descending. http://rainbowdash.net/url/801227

This is the type of area that's considered chock full of spirituality to Tengerists. This is where hoomei would be sung, songs of the beauty of the world, the spirits, of ferocious battles, of great lords. Ah.

@awlditzy I would love to go out there with some hand drums and do some meditative chanting, seems like it would be a really therapeutic experience

@northernnarwhal There, that picture is only a few seconds after I opened my eyes from 15 minutes of nothingness besides the sound of the water. Meditation is something I do not often enough, but when done, oh man.

@awlditzy Meditation is underrated, especially if you can a really serene spot like the one in your picture.

@northernnarwhal It does seem even nicer when you come to, yes. I'm fond of nighttime meditation, especially if one is in an area where there is little light pollution. It takes more effort, or lack one could say, to get the same feeling, but it can get you there nonetheless.

@awlditzy I remember going up north last year for a week to live in solitude for a bit and I was pretty much in this old church with some other people I knew and the scenery was nothing short of mesmerizing. I would spend hours alone either exploring or just listening to music in the forest. Here's a picture I took of what it was like there, pretty much completely cut off from society. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/801239

@northernnarwhal :) takes me back to hiking days, when I went up north towards Mille Lacs. I miss those days.

@awlditzy It easily ranks in one of the greatest experiences in my life thus far, part of me wishes I stayed longer because it was ethereal. Inside the church there was an old out of tune piano and some guitars so we'd all sing and play songs deep into the night.

@northernnarwhal Only recent experience I had with an abandoned building was that mill, and that was much more scary than ethereal, so to speak. Mostly my own fault.

@awlditzy Yeah, this was honestly the most peaceful place I've ever been to. Silent in the intrinsic essence of the word, I could hear myself think. Here's a shot of one of my favourite spots. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/801243

@northernnarwhal A sort of peaceful many people don't seem to understand or appreciate.

@awlditzy Unfortunately, but I guess because of that it means those who do understand it can value it even more.

@northernnarwhal Pretty much, more for us. But nature wants to share with all beings.

@awlditzy Sort of like the expression, "You can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink", eh?

@northernnarwhal Now you're pandering to the bronies and that's nice.

@awlditzy I'll horse around here every now and then.

@awlditzy apples man, you have such a fantastic eye for landscapes. The drifting light cascading onto the water is brilliant.

@northernnarwhal Nature is one of very few things I will always love and see for its true beauty. One should have a connection with it and never let go.
