Coltzerino likes this. -
@northernnarwhal Don't know who that is but I liked the style. #spoopy
-
@northernnarwhal Nice.
-
@mastertdi I remember another funny one on tumblr with him photoshopped as Madoka from Madoka Magica
-
@northernnarwhal I think I saw that one too
-
@coutz Yeah, he's an incredibly mysterious musician (seldom ever did any interviews, incredibly introverted and reserved to him, and wrote abstract as hell lyrics)
-
@northernnarwhal Oooh that's interesting. Seems like he is really commited to his art and don't care about the fame. I admire that.
-
@mastertdi Kinda stupid but kinda funny too I guess
-
@northernnarwhal I want that on my tombstone.

@coutz The band themselves broke up earlier this year on the grounds that they felt they reached their peak artistically and have achieved everything they've wanted to as collaborative artists. The first half of their final album was released earlier this year, and the second half is pending to be released at some unknown point in the foreseeable future.

@mastertdi It'll be your Epitiff
-
@northernnarwhal bananas on my apples
-
@mastertdi come up and get me
-
@northernnarwhal They already got my respect.
-
@coutz Ellie really likes them too
-
@northernnarwhal Not surprised in the slightest

@coutz It's sort of neat how MC Ride is more than just an alias for him, it's a character. Onstage, he has this energetic and violent persona who goes from rapping to sometime even screaming these dark and cryptic lyrics. He also explains that what he does as a performer when performing is not planned but is merely a reflection of some deep rooted primal instinct that emerges when he performs, and if any of it was staged to him it would considered contrived art. Outside of performances he's actually this incredibly private guy who lives by himself and paints. He's like, the polar opposite of the kind of person you'd expect him to actually be, it's really interesting.
-
@northernnarwhal Kind of sounds like Kafka in the character regard.
-
@northernnarwhal Man, that's awesome! I can see why you like him so much.
-
@awlditzy Yeah, Kafka was a bit of a private person too. Apparently he also had a very active sex life and schizophrenia.
-
@coutz Him, and all of Death Grips as a band in general, have had a massive impact on me artistically.
-
@northernnarwhal I'll try and hear some songs of them another day
-
@coutz I don't know if you'd like them or not, at least based on what I know you already like. They're very different, and they're also very abrasive and avant garde.
-
@northernnarwhal Only one way to find out, right?
-
@coutz I'm calling it right now that you're not gonna like them (which is cool, but just the most probable scenario).
-
@northernnarwhal NOT WITH THAT ATTITUDE
-
@coutz If you really wanna check them out their LP "The Money Store" is probably the best place to start. Has a healthy mixture of of all their different styles and some of their best hooks.
-
@northernnarwhal Will do
-
@coutz This track got a few friends I know IRL into Death Grips (it's the favourite of my friend Gianfranco who plays guitar for our band Alacrity) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW9H1b7zXUY
