@northernnarwhal There's other things I didn't like but since I can't actually explain what I /do/ like because I don't have any way to put it properly it'll seem like I hated it when in fact I'd consider it a solid 8/10 probably.

@northernnarwhal It was a step up from his last album. The instrumentation was better, same with the mixing. His songwriting could use some work is all. And I'm surprised he dropped MLP stuff in it since his last album had nothing of the sort. Idk. It sounded good though.

@northernnarwhal Nah. I just do a lot of stupid stuff. Like for example when I complain that I can't join conversations because I'm too stupid. Who wants to see that? Not a lot of people. Or when I try to give an opinion of something I'm less informed on than everyone else. Aka most things. That's why I don't give my opinions on things. They're almost always incorrect because I'm an idiot and everyone knows more about everything than I do.

@northernnarwhal Next to none is some degree by definition. Aka, me. As well as being blessed with next to no creativity and mediocre intelligence, I also lack the ability to interact with or make meaningful connections with people and I'm incredibly lazy. So I'll probably become homeless and die alone with no prospects for any sort of job because some higher power thought it would be funny to make someone like me exist. Or maybe I exist to make everyone else feel better about themselves. Like "hey, at least I'm not that guy." That sort of thing. Sounds about right tbh. Not much else I could be good for.

@yodelerty I honestly think you're selling yourself short. It's easy to be your own critic, because we have a natural tendency to highlight our flaws and expose how they conflict with our goals. I think you possess the capacity to be incredibly creative because you're incredibly passionate, and lots of creativity stems from that.

@yodelerty Because that's not how people work. There was this fairly popular principle initially introduced by John Locke known as "Tabula Rasa", which means "blank slate". Essentially, we're blank slates who then have ideas, concepts, abilities, and other things imprinted onto us through a variety of means and sources. We're constantly growing and changing and evolving, and to assume at 22 all of that becomes totally stagnant is just silly.

@northernnarwhal Maybe it isn't stagnant but the fact is that I've literally accomplished nothing. There are probably millions of 14-year-olds further ahead in life than me. Because I'm so lazy and I can't do anything for myself at all. And trust me if not being able to talk to people was fixable, I would be able to do so now. But I can't. So what am I doing? How did I end up this awful?

@yodelerty I think it is fixable, it just needs time. People are different and not everyone's gonna take the same amount of time for everything. The first thing is to start telling yourself you didn't end up awful, because the more you tell yourself that the more you'll believe it's true.

@yodelerty Basically what I'm saying is if you're not the best in the world don't let that discourage you, and that taking influence from others is good but if you let comparing yourself to the people around you dominate your mentality you won't be able to motivate yourself in any way.
