I going to rig this dirt cheap wireless mouse with a 9 volt battery. I'm sick of changing triple A's every week, damn it.

@beatstrings Make absolutely sure you know what you're doing. Two triple As do NOT equal 9 volts.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:01:51 UTC from web-
@techdisk it depends wether its in series or not
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:06:18 UTC from web-
@rednorth Yup,I need to find some series small enough to fit, or if I must I'll just make an a board adjacent to the battery, only thing I'll risk is the aesthetics.

@techdisk I'm not going to tape it willy nilly, I need a capacitor to lower it to 1.5 volts without losing any power.

@beatstrings good deduction, i approve!
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:07:38 UTC from web -
@beatstrings Resistor. Not capacitor.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:13:26 UTC from web-
@techdisk M'bad there, yeah resistors, god damn I need to re-read my physics book.

@beatstrings Also you'd be surprised how much more time simply switching to a double A gives you.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:14:13 UTC from web-
@techdisk If I switched to double A I have to make a wedge vertically and horizontally, I'll keep that in mind.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:17:52 UTC from web-
@beatstrings Seriously, though. Unless you have a DC power converter for 9 volts down to 1.5, don't use the 9 volt. Use the double A. Or buy a new mouse.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:23:16 UTC from web-
@techdisk I'll look for a converter, listing the option of triple A and I am so poor I could only pay for my food and my tuition.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:25:06 UTC from web-
@beatstrings Double

@techdisk I bought this mouse many months, maybe even a year ago. I've gone through exactly one battery for it.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:26:58 UTC from web-
@techdisk And it comes with a battery.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:27:49 UTC from web -
@techdisk I don't even have money! The coins I'm using for bus fare came from sweeping my room yesterday.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:29:04 UTC from web-
@beatstrings Well mod in that double A.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:29:49 UTC from web -
@beatstrings Because I don't think there are 9 --> 1.5 converters.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:30:19 UTC from web-
@techdisk There is, just not small enough. Do you think I could just stick two of them together, solder some space for both to fit? I.E. just double the capacity without changing the amp and volts?
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:35:27 UTC from web-
@beatstrings You mean the batteries, or the converter? You only ever need one converter. Multiple batteries connected IN PARALLEL will increase time.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:44:33 UTC from web-
@techdisk The batteries, yeah. Also 30 bucks for a durable mouse, I can't go wrong but like I said, I don't have any cash on me. I might get some after we rear beetles and sell them to collectors.

@techdisk I'll save it, if I could wedge the body to make the battery fit well enough, then I won't buy it, or maybe I'll save my sorrow and just stick with thing ungraceful touchpad.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:31:32 UTC from web-
@beatstrings I honestly highly recommend that mouse. As I said. I've only changed its battery once after more than a year of usage.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:32:57 UTC from web -
@beatstrings Plus, the site I gave you is in Canadian money. Its probably much less in the US.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:34:04 UTC from web-
@techdisk I'll just use this if all else fails http://pny.lv/coj4
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:42:08 UTC from web-
@beatstrings I want one of those...
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:43:09 UTC from web-
@techdisk It would at least save our arguments, nice to meet an engineer around here. :)
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:44:18 UTC from web-
@beatstrings :P electronics is fun.
Sunday, 01-Mar-15 17:46:01 UTC from web-
@techdisk So is thermodynamics :P
