          1. @awolditzy It's actually not Semitic. Egyptian is actually a completely separate branch of the Afro-Asiatic family.

            That being said, Coptic does differentiate gender in the third person singular, anok, ntok and nto

            1. @zazamon I got confused due to my reading some sort of article explaining its shared consonant-grouping 'root' words anomaly that Semitic languages have in bounds. Maybe that's all Afro-Asiatic languages.

              1. @awolditzy To be fair, Coptic does share a decent bit with the Semitic languages, likely due to the strong Hebrew influences during the middle dynasties of Egypt and the Arabic influence towards the end.

                1. @zazamon Oh that might be it. Kind of like Ottoman Turkish became more Semitic like than Turkic like in means of vocabulary and some grammatical functions.
