  1. I also managed to scrap some metal today, went to St Anthony Main and decided to snap this after hitting a cafe. Friday I do plan on going to Nerstrand and get some hiking done before having to drudge back to work. http://rainbowdash.net/url/824411

    1. @awlyra Either you're incredible with location scouting or the area you live in just has a lot of really evocative scenery. Great shot composition as always too, the way the trees frame and contrast the river with the building is fantastic. One of your best shots for sure.

      1. @northernnarwhal Just what my eyes see essentially, no actual scouting involved unless you count how to concentrate the shot. Minneapolis has a great amount of evocative scenery if you know where to look.

        1. @awlyra Now that I'm on break I should get a decent camera and actually get back into photography, I used to really love it.

          1. @northernnarwhal I'd be delighted to see any shots you could take.

            1. @awlyra Here's a shot from around a year ago from when I was in Scotland http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/824415

              1. @northernnarwhal I see an Oblivion in this. Rolling green hill, ruined parapet, watchtower. I love it.

                1. @awlyra Yeah, a lot of the pictures I took there seem to have a common thread of expressing the theme of isolation. I was in a considerably despondent mental state during a lot of my trip so it really came through with a lot of my photography there. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/824420

                  1. @northernnarwhal Words is that incredibly evocative. I had been on a sort of prayer kick last week, I wonder if it shows in this. http://rainbowdash.net/url/824421

                    1. @awlyra Yeah, the way the trees are framed by the sky gives off a very spiritual essence. Definitely shows.

                      1. @northernnarwhal My main hope was to capture the eternal blue sky in a depiction of opening arms. That's at least what I saw.

                        1. @awlyra There's certainly a really heavy emphasis on contrast between the ground and the sky in that shot, where the ground is full of dead twigs and branches but the sky reaches out vivaciously with pure white clouds.
