    looks like something has succumbed of the heat here: cannot restart Chromium, and my /home seems to be mounted read-only (but even reading doesn't seem to work!). Just what I need. NOT :(

      @mk rebooted, lots of errors but desktop does come up... only home drive is indeed mounted read-only. !grrr going to try rescue CD... :(
