how do you get rid of a sore throat
Saturday, 21-Nov-15 23:54:14 UTC from web-
@tiffany Honey and warm tea tends to help me treat mine when I get one
-
@northernnarwhal is that and/or. can I just eat honey out of the jar

@tiffany It draws water away from inflamed tissue through osmosis which causes less swelling, so you could you could hypothetically take it on its own if you're so inclined. I just like it in tea (especially a nice herbal tea) because it's really soothing for the affected area.

@northernnarwhal I'm in no state to attempt to make tea

@tiffany Don't you have a kettle?
-
@northernnarwhal yeah but I don't feel up to operating it right now

@tiffany Well a spoonful of honey on its own should still help if you're up to that. Maybe a popsicle for pain relief too if you have one in the house.
-
@northernnarwhal we do have some, I have been eating some ice cream but I dunno if that's as good
Sunday, 22-Nov-15 00:17:20 UTC from web-
@tiffany Ice cream isn't as good because dairy products can cause throat swelling during periods of mucus buildup

@northernnarwhal I've been lied to

@northernnarwhal I ate some honey and got a popsicle

@tiffany Good stuff, hope it helps. It won't make the sore throat go away outright (only time can really accomplish that) but it should hopefully treat it.
-
@northernnarwhal hopefully, I'm not a huge fan of popsicles
Sunday, 22-Nov-15 00:27:42 UTC from web-
@tiffany I actually kind of prefer them to ice cream personally, as far as cold treats go.
