Also a show I love, but doesn't have as wide an audience appeal as something like FLCL. Mushishi does what it sets out to do pretty much perfectly, but if you're not a fan of its style of storytelling you won't care for it at all.

@noelnarwhal Yeah, we had a tv channel that was dedicated mostly to anime. Then sony entertainment bought it and killed it byfilling it with hideous live action dramas for mentally challenged teenagers, rebranded it, and eventually closed it altogether as no one watched it.

@mushi Yeah. When animax started existing, locomotion got replaced by it.

@nerthos yeah, i only had locomotion for a little time and i liked it, then animax took ove and aired FMA a billion times before they seplaced it with sony spin

@nerthos animax started with a ton of random anime, but with time only bleach FMA mushi shi and hell girl remained

@mushi Yeah, and by that time no one watched it and they changed it to sony spin. And the reason no one watched it was BECAUSE they replaced all the anime with excruiatingly boring western shows.

@nerthos We haven't really had any anime air here to my knowledge except for old dubs of early 00s shonen shows

@noelnarwhal Some shows started airing here in the 90s because the licenses were cheap, and it caught up. Never too strongly, but enough for cartoon channels and some air ones to air a few now and then. Everything from sailor moon and dragon ball to slayers and evangelion.

@nerthos We did have dubs of Dragonball air here and I'm pretty sure I remember watching Sailor Moon on tv here at one point, but I didn't discover Evangelion until I got much older.
