I hope I don't sound like I'm just on the proverbial bandwagon here but Blackstar is amazing and David Bowie is amazing

@tiffany If anything, I hope people can take this as an opportunity to appreciate what a brilliant and accomplished musician he was, regardless how big of a fan they were before his passing. Blackstar is in a lot of ways a farewell gift from him to the world and it, along with the rest of his catalog, should be shared and embraced.

@northernnarwhal I had no idea how to put into words how he buffered his passing with an album but goddamn it amazes me

@tiffany The lyrics to Lazarus are haunting in retrospect http://m.imgur.com/DmltV4h,1byUDpJ Those first lines talking about how he's up in heaven and that he's got scars no one can see, you can tell he was dying and knew it, but didn't make it publicly known. Interestingly enough, the ending of the song seems to draw reference Charles Bukowski's "Bluebird", which was a poem all about the fear of letting go and revealing oneself. The poem had many themes of alienation and the release of death too, and the dichotomy between the freedom it provided and the heartbreak it caused.

@northernnarwhal The second verse got me in such a way that I want to set it as my new Skype mood

@tiffany I deliberated between a few of my favourite Bowie songs, I settled on lyrics from Heroes because they feel appropriate.

@northernnarwhal Jeremy from EE chose "floating in the most peculiar way," and as far as I can gather he is quite the fan
