@northernnarwhal if you hit Light punch/ light kick/medium punch and so on, EZ combo. Especially since one of your heavies launch and you can do it in the air

@rarity Yeah, I'm going through Training right now to get a better feeling of the mechanics. I have no experience in tradition 2d combo fighters outside of playing a bit of Street Fighter when I was younger.

@northernnarwhal yeah Skullgirls is basically MVC2 but easier to play, not like street fighter or even other anime fighters

@rarity Yeah, this style of gameplay is something I've seen a lot before but I've never really tried it myself. It's definitely really input demanding.

@rarity Oh I certainly don't main Bowser, but he's actually playable for me now which is a step up from him in pretty much any other Smash game. Currently I'm maining Ike with Captain Falcon and Cloud subs, though I'm thinking of picking Lucas back up soon.

@rarity I like Pac Man because he's got really great mixups and a good neutral game (minus his pretty laggy grab) but I can't use Samus at all in SSB4.

@northernnarwhal she's more useable than ever IMO. In Melee and Brawl her arials were really weak and he tilts weren't great either

@rarity I thought she was solid in Melee. I think her aerials and tilts in that game are actually pretty good (especially her bair) and she's got a great recovery because she can bomb jump and grapple (as well as wall jump if I remember correctly). My only real issue with Melee Samus is that while it's tough to kill her horizontally she's pretty floaty so it's pretty easy to kill her vertically. Brawl Samus is garbage, though in that case I think it has less to do with her aerials and tilts in that game and more to do with the fact that she has no setups whatsoever and no reliable kill moves until really high percents.

@northernnarwhal my main complaint with samus in general but Melee samus in particular is her kiwiing grab. I mean for a pro her arials might be great( She is like upper mid tier in Melee, but I will agree her Bair is good)

@northernnarwhal I'd rather fight a fox than a marth. most Fox players below "top 32 at a tournament" level are showoffs who don't actually fight well, just show off. Marth players do well by nature of the characters REALLY pwoerfull moves. Sword characaters are automatically higher tier than non sword characters

@rarity Nah, Marth was the only really good sword character in Melee, everyone else is decent to kind of bad in Melee. Marth's good, but his weight means he's total combo food once you chain him and his out of shield game is garbage. He doesn't have a really great recovery either. Marth doesn't have the skill ceiling a character like Fox does, but Marth is definitely not without his weaknesses. He's just considered really good in Melee because of his amazing spacing, approach options, and offstage game, among other things.

@rarity It's really good for approaching and combo setups but it's also really easy to counter so you have to be careful when using it. I'm not really great with Sm4sh Dedede but he's super fun to play.

@northernnarwhal Sm4sh DDD is really a lot like Melee Jiggs. Instead of zoning with side b and bair Like Jiggs, you make a wall of pain with Side B and Bair. So... It's exactly the same.

@rarity Yeah, his playstyle in his approach is pretty much the same. He has rapid jump to so his offstage game is pretty similar to Melee Jigglypuff, but Gordos also really make really good edgeguarding tools at the ledge.
