@nerthos And even then, with news you can get all or most of it online or on the radio

@northernnarwhal I'm actually a defender of local tv channels. People work really hard on those, unlike other company run channels, and most of the people who watch them don't use computers too much.

@nerthos I guess while I can understand the importance of supporting mediums like that for news that cater to less internet savvy people, but I wonder how long until it becomes entirely obsolete.

@northernnarwhal Maybe another decade or two, when the generation that watches it dies down. Most of the people who stick to TV are well into their 40s or more.

@mushi Yeah, many of those went down the drain. Discovery channel became about survivalists and the like, history channel about buying and selling, national geographic is yankee propaganda, and infinito is just low budget drama. RIP scientific TV.

@nerthos net geo has one or another good thinh once in a while. But i mostly use cable to watch untold ER since they already got rid of the other medical shows
