  1. It should come as no surprise to anyone that the Grammy's, like many major awards shows, are effectively just industry executives patting themselves on that back via live television.

    1. @northernnarwhal the grammys are actually even more of a joke than other awards shows, as an industry insider I can attest to this

      1. @vriska I mean, I wouldn't exactly hold up something like the Academy Awards as a paragon of integrity, but I certainly don't think any awards show is as out of touch as the Grammys are.

        1. @northernnarwhal That is certainly the case. The Grammys are ridiculous

          1. @vriska Which is why at this point I'm more concerned with the performances prepared for them, which are usually pretty great given nothing goes wrong (like what happened with Adele's piano mic, which wasn't her fault)

      1. @metaltao And that's why I really don't have much else to say about the Grammy's. There aren't a lot of meaningful or intelligent things to say about it in the first place. I could wax lyrical about why I value Kendrick Lamar as am artist, but in all honesty To Pimp a Butterfly has already reached a level as a cultural object far beyond anything a Grammy win for album of the year could do for it.
