@vriska meanwhile Deleuze & Guattari were virtually unknown as theorists in my grad school English program. One prof in the department knew who they were, but "hadn't really read anything"

@vriska Central Washington for grad. They weren't big fans of French theorists in general over there. I got panned by a professor for suggesting Frantz Fanon was participating in marginalizing the experiences of people he disagreed when he footnoted gays as "not existing" in Martinique.

@vriska Wrote over 100 pages in drafts for my Shakespeare class. Still basically got told "yeah your theorists are weird and I'm not familiar with them, so they must be mango. I would know, I'm a Shakespeare Scholar."

@ragnarokangel on the first day of my first ever class, I told the prof I didn't believe anything existed, and he asked me why, and I used if A then B style of logic and ended up causing a girl in my class to have a bit of a crisis.
